We have been holding out on doing tournaments for cash or even at all until things are re-vamped.

First of all a fully integrated membership system needs to be in place before I can charge people for tournament entry and they feel comfortable doing so. Secondly the two BETA tournaments taught us a lot about the structure of the tournaments themselves. Nothing major from what you saw if you joined in either tournament, everything went pretty good and will remain unchanged.

As such, a longer break period will be in effect while I work on Part 2 of the WarCon Saga and construct the membership system. The tournaments so far have been mostly friends of mine and their friends.. I probably will be doing more BETA tournaments while working on those two things. If you want in, subscribe to the RSS Feed and whenever I plan on doing them I will still post them on the site as before. Just may be a few weeks before the next one so checking everyday might get depressing.

Don’t worry this needs to happen so the people who are new have a genuine experience they won’t forget and have no doubts in their mind they will be in the next tournament.

Also the desktop computer that hosts the Live Game Feed is down due to viruses. It will take a week or two to get it fixed so the live feed won’t be available until then.

Starting Tuesday, December 1st, 2009 we will be running tournaments free to help test, organize and streamline before giving away cash.

BETA testing will take place for the month of December with cash payout tournaments starting January 2nd, 2010.  Click the links below to the games or game you play. Choose which days you can help us out and type “I’m in, on the 3rd, 8th, 17th.. etc” in the chat room. Try to be in that same chat room on the dates of the tournaments as close to the start time as possible.

There are many changes or ‘upgrades’ that have been made since Kaos Theory’s store tournaments. Obviously the cost has reduced dramatically giving us new opportunity to make the online tournament experience truly special. Tournament websites like GameBattles are too big to really give players the experience they deserve.

Changes made since the store hosted tournaments:

Cash Payouts Increased

Since we do not charge spectators and are currently seeking sponsors our cash payouts are solely derived from the entry fees.

The old store tournament payouts:
60% Host/40% 1st Place Winner.

The new online tournament payouts:
50% 1st Place Winner/
25% 2nd Place Winner/25% Host.

Entry Fee Decreased

The tournament store had a $10 entry fee or you could go for memberships that had monthly fees but decreased your entry. Silver was $25/Mnth Re-Occurring on a debit/credit card or $35 one time cash payment and entry fee was $5. Gold was $50/Mnth Re-Occuring on a debit/credit card or $60 one time cash payment and entry was $2. There were no chances for free entry and my previous business partners wanted to get rid of the cash payouts.. Insane right.

The tournaments online use the Entry Pay Grade Levels described on our Leaderboard you work your way from $8 entry starting out to $6, then $3 and finally to no entry fee. There are no confusing costly memberships or re-occurring monthly fees our membership is free. As of now we are still working on the membership system itself for the website.
